Hi

I have a job coming up next week where the customer wants the pipe coming off a gas meter and into their utility room. (care home, two meters I'm assuming this new pipe will supply the utility room and the other will do the kitchen but i haven't had a proper look yet)

Anyway the point of the thread is my boss said he wanted me to find out how it will be ok to run the pipe underground and keep it from being damaged. (I will have to lift the tiles up from the ground and it doesn't look as though it will be a major problem.)

Only thing I can suggest it using the yellow gas pipe (MDPE?) as it is strong and will not corrode easily.

Is it possible to run copper underground? I'd say no as it could easily be damaged.

Any suggestions?

Copper wrapped in denso tape, as long as it is at the correct depth then using copper pipe wont be an issue.

Whats the correct depth? Got 50mm in my head.

Tracpipe. No joints and you can run it within the building boundary. Which you can't do with pe.

Galvanised iron and make a shift out of it
