got a problem when ever i turn on my hot tap i get a strange noise coming from some where sounds like the mains just wondering if i need to chage the ballvalve in my loft tank as when the noise happens if i flush the wc it stops the noise.

got a hot water cylinder and i think its the ball valve filling the cwsc up thats causing the noise its like a vibration through the pipe work

so my thinking is if i change the ball valve will that sort it?

thanks

yes sounds like the white cone or the washer in the ball valve is vibrating.

Water hammer, its hard to trace the problem but if it sounds like its coming from the loft its probably the ball valve but it could be un-supported pipework

thought it was the ball valve ill chage that and go from there dident want to climb into the loft and find it was ok, sounds lazy of me but what plumber wants to fiddle about with his own plumbing after a long day at work lol
