I'm sure I've read somewhere that mild steel towel rails are unsuitable for an unvented system due to the absence of corrosion inhibitor. If this is the case is there any reason not to fit one and tip a bottle in the rail before filling?
If anyone can point me to a link for more info it would be much appreciated.

Towel Rads are suitable for any system. Upon installation and before being filled with water. I usually pour inhibitor into the air vent with the valves closed. If either a unvented or a vented system is drained, then the chemistry must be added again.

are not most radiators made of mild steel?

seems to be a trend starting calling a sealed system an unvented system? or is it me?

probably me :)

Yes your right mate
But not just you
Some people think couse it's sealed with a exp vessel it's unvented like cylinders
But it's sealed and open vented

Yep agreed. Plus the super expensive stainless steel ones still corrode and their are several law suits out against manufacturers claims. Sounds familiar.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
