clients valor 941 DFE after approx 2 months use the some of the coals are covered in soot fire about 2 years old. flue working well
any idears
thanks

fallen in from chimmney? or something wrong with fire set up 4 sure

if the chimney's pulling and the spillage test passed then i'd go for coals in the wrong positions, this can make them soot up very quickly. If the coals are in the wrong position then the gas wont burn correctly and i'm sure this can be classed as "AR"

i would look at aeration setting as well,or coals in wrong place,if sooting up then combustion is effected so ID

A small amount of soot on DFE's may/can be normal. The coals are placed purposely to give a bad burn that results in a nice yellow pretty flame. Which can result in some soot. A nice clean blue flame is boring to look at.
Excessive soot usually point to incorrectly positioned or missing coals on these fires.
If flue flow and spillage are good, make sure coal positions are spot on as per the MI's.

Running fire on low flame constantly can result in more soot. It is good to give fire a good run on full flame from time to time to burn off the excess deposits.
