I'm off ski ! Retiring to foreign lands

My mrs has a managed to get a a top job in Malaysia and we're off in August!

I'll be a kept man initially whilst I find a job. Might train as a scuba diving instructor or take my pilots licence. Very exciting if not daunting.
I must say I'm feeling very relieved as getting fed up with Gas work and looking forward for a change and some consistent decent motorbike riding weather!


So watch this space for loads of plumbing gear being flogged off (cheap ish)

As an aside, has anyone ever gone through closing down a ltd company. Struggling to get hold of the accountant but I've been told you need to cease trading for 3 months but it's officially shut down ? If so can you work or do so under self employment terms?

i did wonder that but I don't know how much it would be worth or indeed if it would be worth the hassle. It is a pain not having someone I trust to pass my customers onto. I've got quite a few regulars and a lucrative farm contract buts it's based on personal relationships. I've run the company to get a decent wage lifestyle balance so it's not massive (just shy of VAT threshold) turnover.

yes looking at the pilot thing for some time now, have you watched 'worse place to be a pilot' on channel 4? It's about load of expats learning to fly in Indonesia . One dude was a plumber from England who soLd up and was living it up.
