Thanks - whoever installed this made the plywood panel flush everywhere, and there doesn't appear to be anywhere to get anything behind the plywood... from memory (will need to look again) as to how big the nails are in terms of...
Start on a corner or a join between 2 panels and prise the plywood up with a strong paint scraper or thin chisel.
Or screw some large screws into the panels near the edge and away from the supporting timbers and pull on the panel with...
Hi, I am a carpenter rather than a plumber, but would say I have decent other diy skills. I have a similar set up - same programmer but a drayton diverter.
I've read somewhere that the main capacitor can fail on particular batch...
Okay, not exactly plumbing but a problem that some plumbers might have experienced.
We have a loft area where the previous own 'boarded up' the cold water tank (ie made an effective 'wall') using thick plywood and thin nails that have...
Practical Explanation ( For Example ) :- `1st of all can you tell me every single seconds detail from that time when you born ?? ( i need every seconds detail ?? that what- what you have thought and done on every single second )

Hi I have a commercial plumbing job coming up in the Oxford area and need to find a team local to the area that could help us complete these works. Happy to look at a day rate or fixed price
Thanks for your reply ..looking for a wire coat hanger out of 50 and not one!! they are all plastic now ..i am wondering whether to buy a roll of this for £3 ...its plastic coated but it depends if i can make some sort of a hook ....if...
Don't plunge it, it needs to be pulled back out the bend, otherwise you'll have a blockage further down.
And throw the rest of those away.
If you have wire coat hanger or other similar piece of wire, make a hook on the end and try and...
Hi, I'm part-way through having my kitchen refurbished and my fitter does the plumbing himself as part of the job.
The kitchen has been stripped and the pipework is in and have just painted the new plasterwork etc ready for fitting...
I have a customer who has had pressure dropping from their system. I went to the property and firstly checked for any leaks anywhere. There was none. I had a look at the boiler and the expansion vessel had failed.
I ordered the...
Yes standard but he may have been stumped because they are not regularly seen out in the wild I only came across a couple in 40 odd years, so not surprised if he was unsure.
Yes that's it and the basin waste is to the right.
Good should. I can get access via the ground floor and will give that a try. Hopefully it works.
Won't be anywhere near it when filling and draining the bath though! 😀
Thanks!
On my version of your photo, if the bath waste is as identified then the best way if you can access that pipework is to remove the access cap circled yellow, use a snake / flexi and push it down towards the stack first, there's only one...
Is the gravity cold fed shower connected to a combi or unvented cylinder for the hot?
If so it's most likely higher pressure hot crossing over into the low pressure cold via the shower mixer or possibly a mixer tap elsewhere with L.P...

We have no hot water but the radiators feel a little warm, the heating hasn't been on for 4hrs, does this mean theres an issue with the diverter valve and thats likely why we have no hot water?
Thanks
was struggling to get a local guy out same day,
Follow up to above, we've just noticed the radiators are a little warm when the heating is off and the taps have been running, would this indicate the a issure with the diverter valve...
I have recently had issues with my central heating and water system. When the hot water is on, the radiators are hot. I thought this was the Honeywell Valve head, so I replaced it. Problem still there.
I then spotted that the ST9420C...

Hi
We've recently had an issue where our hot water was fluctuating hot to warm and occasionally cold. We got a Britsh Gas engineer out and he changed the heat exchange plate but noted that the main heat exchange had sediment in it also...

Has water from the bath ever drained away correctly?
Does the bath waste pipe go into a 4" / 110mm vertical stack pipe?
Does the sink / basin on the same line drain away O.K ?
As LastPlumber has said, an air admittance valve or...
Any other suggestions? Given plunging/unblockers have not been successful so far.
I've seen those drain snake devices but am reluctant to use that for fear of it getting stuck or breaking around one of the 90 degree bends
If it isn't blocked it is more likely to require a vent. An air admittance valve will not give you that.
You would be best getting a Plumber to identify the cause of it failing to drain before altering anything.
hi ive just came back from the dentist job and the spluttering was due to 1 of the surgeries compressed air and water mixers breaking down and air was getting into the water i did suggest that was the case on the phone to her and she...
It's really difficult to give good advice without knowing a little more about your system, size of house, how many radiator's etc but in general you wouldn't fit a secondary pump to a domestic heating system. My advice would be to...
I have problem in waste pipe of bath which only drains if I plunge it. I made sure there are not any blockages further down the line of the pipe. Apparently it needs Air Admittance valve to let the drain flow freely. Another experienced...

Hi Steve, can I ask why you want to install a water filter before your softener?
If you use well water I can understand the reason and your selected filter would be ideal.
However if you use town water there should be no need, the...
