    Free floating pan

Glaze is fine just do9es not seem to fit as snugly as original. Just read reviews of it, and it is a McAlpine, and others saying same as me that fit if a bit iffy and easy to pull off whereas the otiginal, which I will probably stick with is a really good fit.

    Free floating pan

Totally agree. Years ago I had one which I had bought in France and it attached to a metal frame that had feet and attachments to affix to the wall and the pan then bolted to this. No chance of movement. And whilst I have you attention may I please ask one mre question. I thought a new pan...

    Free floating pan

I do feel somewhat guilty that most times I post a question on here I have a problem, and today is no exception. I will try to keep it brief. Yesterday one of my daughters called to say that she had a problem with water dripping through the flat beneath hers ceiling. She had panicked and called...

    Grunfos Alpha pump

Still running okay on original settings. So am bemused why it had a wobbly that one evening.

    Grunfos Alpha pump

Is product 95047568 which is to give its full title is an Alpha2 L 15-60 130. Same power/current as your photo. On page 12 of the handbook it shows various pump settings for different arrangements ie radiators, underfloor heating, and shower. Using the prefered setting for normal radiators I...

    Grunfos Alpha pump

Pump is a fair few years old and does not have an info display on front except the 3 settings on each arrangement. I must point out that we rarely have many radiators on anyway, log burners work overtime. I had planned this morning to switch back to the original setting and see results so will...

    Grunfos Alpha pump

System was working fine yesterday with the Alpha pump set on lowest proportional setting. I noticed in the evening the radiators barely warm. So opened up the trvs no difference. Rads warm to the touch but no more. So checked oil boiler over nothing looking amiss. So I switched the pump over to...

    Water leak outside property

Ha easier said than done cutting back to undamaged pipe. Shortly after picture it disappears under a flower bed with trees in there then under a paved area before arriving at the garage. The scores scrtaches are not bad just that a slight score I have found can make an O ring seal not work. I...

    Water leak outside property

Just another matter. The pipe coming from the garage is shall we say marked/scored so I doubt a normal 20mm MDPE would seal well enough. What I am therefore thinking of is a 20mm brass compression fitting, do they exist?

    Water leak outside property

Finally traced leak with aid of a CAT4 cable tracer and genny. Problem was with fastening ring on a Philmac universal transition joiner. The ring had split for around 50% of the circumference. Attached is a pic of current state. Original feed from meter now terminated with a stop end on a JG 3/4...
