Bbookworm replied to the thread old-style boss adaptor?.There is no male iron and no plastic in sight. The bosses are built into the main soil pipe - the rubber adaptors are pushed in. This is a 50's build. Photo attached - it has a 40mm cap shoved in at the moment.

BI'm working with an old cast iron stack that has two cast iron bosses built into it. Currently one has a 40mm waste pipe going in, the other 32. Thing is they're both 50mm in external diameter and deep. I can only find boss adaptors...
