We've just finished a 100sqm floor with the EPS400 low profile boards, they were glued and mechanically fixed to the floorboards below, then primed and screeded with a latex floor levelling compound (5mm ish) and finished with 12 mm glued engineered flooring.
Just made sure we had floor temp...
Each manifold will have it's own pump and TMV. Boiler pump for cylinder and supplying manifolds.
If it is just rads, so no TMV, you could probably get away with just the boiler circulator if it's close to manifold and only 11 rads.
We often use two manifolds as it allows you to set different TMV temperatures for UFH and radiators, just allowing more control.
If you are making a list also consider weather compensation as this can work well with low temp heating systems. And remember to insulate as much as possible, if you...
We do a lot of UFH ground floor and radiators upstairs, both on separate manifolds fed by the boilers pump. Never had any problems and they work great, often I pipe a towel radiator in as a bypass option before the upstairs manifold. Works really well with a cylinder and hot water priority...
As above, you'll need to remove the flush plate and get some shots of the internals. If you can remove the flush valve you'll get a better idea. There's an online company called 'Fix the bog', if you email photos to them they are normally very good finding spares.
I've seen the marketing material promoting the new version but not an actual boiler, has much changed? We're heading to the Installer show on Thursday so was hoping to have a look at one then.
There's very rarely ever a 'straight swap' so I wouldn't pick the next boiler on that reason. It's a days work normally including a bit of pipe adjustments no matter which manufacturer/model etc.
We fit a lot of Baxi 800's in our rentals, they are great value, have a good warranty and easy to...
Yeah it would need to be manually operated when freezing weather is an issue. Not ideal at all, but just trying to offer an idea, what if it was a gate valve only just opened so 95% goes up and out, then anything left in the top of vertical outside will slowly drip back down.
Again I don't know...
Could you not introduce a tee into the vertical pumped waste just before it exits the building, put an isolation valve on the horizontal pipe leaving the tee and then drop it back down into the pump/sump arrangement below. When the valve is opened it would just allow the very top/external...
Yes it can be done, but I would also suggest it is a decent sized job. It would be advisable to seal the heating system rather than raise the header cistern.
Also there's considerable pipework with cylinders, not to mention weight added to the ceiling rafters.
I would get a couple of quotes...
Morning, usually it's the first thing we bin, for exactly the reason you state. Either they don't nip up or the little tabs break when you want to make it tight.
I like the MacAlpine one that has a rubber seal top and bottom, easier to tightened up and no need for silicone, although it is about...
Evening,
Cost wise it is difficult to say, as a lot depends on what's existing and what spec it needs to meet. Generally though you can be looking at anywhere from £8k to £15k depending on sizes. Hope that helps a little.
We fit out and maintain quite a few HMO's in central Manchester, often for students/young professionals. Most are 6 plus bedrooms all ensuite. As said above we fit to a specification detailed by a local consultant firm, but all the systems include pump and breaker tanks for supply, unvented...
If you have removed the filter from the valves try soaking it in boiling water for a few minutes, then get it in a vice and fingers crossed.
If you do remove it, I always put som silicon grease on o-ring and threads, so next year should be better.
Surely a bath or shower tray would need to be capable of withstanding temperatures higher than 35 degrees!
We do a lot of UFH with many different floor types, as a rule the floor temperature we look to achieve is around 27 degrees. I've never heard of it causing damage to bathroom fittings. If...
As above, we cover a lot of rental properties and get constant call outs for 'flame failure'. Once checked there's no apparent reason why, a quick reset and boiler works flawlessly going forward.
