    Water flow rate bathtub query

That boiler is advertised with a flow rate of 10.2l/minute with a 35deg rise, so the flow is set correctly for that boiler.

Fed up with the junk on here

My guess is that you're refusing all cookies. If the site doesn't have the basic cookies then every refresh or new page means the site doesn't know who you are. My usual preference is to allow the basic cookies and refuse the advertising cookies. I must say though, I visited the electricians...

    Electric shower swap

Check it beforehand. Sparkys can be tight with cable and generally won't oversize, so it's likely he put the right cable in for the wattage of shower you have now, not a higher one.

How do I turn this towel rail off?

There's a few reasons why that radiator may need to stay on and turning it off or restricting it may cause issues. It could be a heat dump, could also have the water that comes out of your hot taps flowing through it (not common but seen it done a few times), use caution when you do it. Do you...

Not sure with your exact model but they usually come apart, repairing them is a fools errand though, never lasts long. Get a new one

I use a car instead of a van, do you?

I had a van for a few years when I started out but live in a terrace and if I got home after 5:30 I couldn't park anywhere near my house. My merchants deliver everything I need if I'm doing a big job so I trialled using my car instead for about a month and found I didn't need the van. So I sold...

    strap on boss help please

There are other merchants, stepping it down from 50 to 40mm isn't recommended, especially on a shower waste where the hair, grease and skin etc. has had chance to cool down and congeal by the time it gets to that point in the waste run. It's not to regs but you might get away with it, are you a...

Yes you should be able to cut it down with no problems, you want a clean cut though.

What may be causing this strange leak in a bathroom sink drain?

Is water running back down the underside of the tap (faucet) and pooling where the tap meets the basin, then after time working it's way through the hole that the tap comes through?

    Toilet not filling up enough

My guess is old fashioned 'proper' syphon with a split diaphragm.

Grohe kitchen tap head removal mystery

A wrench could slip and round off the hex, I'd always go for the right sized deep socket.

Bauhaus RADVS2 towel rail valve leaking

Don't put PTFE on where you have coloured in red, those threads aren't the part that create the watertight seal, PTFE there won't influence any leaks. Bottom first as the union fitting can go in slightly skewed if needed and still create a seal. If you feel a need to use PTFE (as most DIYers do...

Grohe kitchen tap head removal mystery

Get a deeper socket from a car spares shop, about £8, job done.

Bauhaus RADVS2 towel rail valve leaking

Certainly looks like it just pulls off, look for a grub screw, if you don't find one or a hole(possibly with a cap on) then you can be pretty sure it just pulls off.

Waste pipe issue - 40mm pipe sliced open

    Pushfit waste is bendier imo.

Waste pipe issue - 40mm pipe sliced open

Is it under stress, I could imagine that happening if continually stressed in one direction. i.e. if you undo it from the trap does the pipe want to spring downwards? Solvent pipe is definitely the more brittle waste type.

    ceramic disc cartridge set

I know they don't have the best rep but screwfix/plumbfix do a decent range of ceramic valves. I keep a few of theirs in stock and I can usually do 95% of all the ceramic taps I come across with them. Will have a shufters at my purchase history and give you the item numbers for the ones I use...
