Soldering poorly fitting joint - pipe not round, good fill, how?

Would fitting a compression fitting not round it off? Remove, pull off olive, then solder.

I need advice on a replacement for my Honeywell C21 Programmer, please

Yes standard backplate straight swap. Thought you should spend minimum if you’re planning an upgrade later.

I need advice on a replacement for my Honeywell C21 Programmer, please

Look on Ebay. There's a nearly new drayton lifestyle LP111Si for £19 delivered.

Could this be causing backfill and intermittent moisture in my walls?

That meter measures electrical conductivity not water content, the '18-27' is just a random guess. Wall conductivity basically represents the salt content of the plaster. When it rains room air has a higher water content which might affect conductivity marginally on the wall surface. Certainly...

    Overheat stat on Grant boiler

Your sensitivity, arrogance and ignorance are a powerful mix. Stay off the flight deck.

    Flow temperature discrepancy

A 10 degree drop across the boiler and across the rads was the normal design until 10 years ago. If flow temp 64 return 54 you probably have only a little condensation in the boiler but to increase efficiency you will need bigger rads. This allows a drop in flow temperature and a bigger drop...

Ideal Icos 18 Boiler sparked - PCB gone?

Ideal Icos are leaky probably water causing a short.

New central heating - what should I be asking for?

The return on investment of heat reflecting glass is way less than a properly designed heating system. Larger radiators (modern doubles) will probably be a straight swap for your existing probably corroded radiators, allowing lower flow temps from the boiler so even higher boiler efficiency...

Unsure if I have an underground water pipe leak?

Disposable dehumidifiers are nowhere near powerful enough - you would need a mains powered one.

Is my boiler oversized? If so, what can I do?

If you’re worried about boiler cycling (experimentally only an efficiency hit of ~3%) it would be best to lower flow temps to the minimum compatible with your heat loss. If your rads are double what would be needed at delta50 then that would suggest a design delta of 30 or so, maybe flow 55...

Can I do anything to boost flow rate into my Roca cistern?

This is a servo valve that needs high pressure to operate properly. It should be pretty simple to swap this valve for a low pressure valve from a local merchant (asking their advice). And change the pipe at the same time.

Water Softener advice now I've moved to combi boiler

No. You're now describing a typical water softener installation, as they are designed for. You can connect a separate drinking water tap using small bore plastic pipe since only low flows are needed which can simplify installation.

Low level shower tray - will I regret this?

Short length of 32 in the copper elbow? then FloPlast WS50W Solvent Weld Waste Level Invert Reducer - White 40mm x 32mm which has a useful offset. Or perhaps FLOPLAST WF07 FLEXI WASTE STRAIGHT COUPLING GREY 30-38MM

Low level shower tray - will I regret this?

Would have been better to pass a plastic pipe (even using a reducer) INSIDE that elbow and sealed that because it wouldn't then leak externally. Don't think you've done this. It will be subject to movement because of expansion/contraction and pipework is not fixed, so may leak over time.

Questionable gas cooker installation. Advice needed.

It would cost quite a bit to move the connection against that singed unit but could also cut a slot down rear of that cabinet for the hose to fall in. So it is doable. Then get the sparky back to replace the power socket with a cable outlet.

Low level shower tray - will I regret this?

If that 11/2 copper elbow frees up to turn a touch in the stack it would be possible to cut through it leaving just the nut to unscrew? Then you’d just need to work out a connection to the threaded socket. Or, the part you’ve connected to seems to sit on a thread on the elbow will that free off?

Which fitting for trite on shower replacement?

The earth of an electric shower is critically important. Who wants a 240V shower? The choccy block even if tightened well is still subject to movement and they can loosen off or the crimped copper wire can snap at that compression point. Better to replace it with a solder joint if original...

Which fitting for trite on shower replacement?

Plumbing looks good but earth continuity is relying on a floating choccy connector which is a worry. Twist and Solder earth wires to be certain? Or even a WAGO would be better.

    Shower mixer tap dribbling

In the fitting in the wall there is a blue seal which the ceramic disc presses on. it looks in bad condition and if removed and replaced the leak should stop. I would also give the cartridge a soak in descaling fluid to clean it up.
