Go into installer level on the 470 and turn the heating curve up if it hasnt been done yet. The factory setting for the curve is very low and you will find the rads only seem to get luke warm unless its very cold outside.
It cant modulate the boiler if its on a vaillant which doesnt have open therm though. It can only switch it on or off. It wouldnt be able to control the modulation or the flow temperature. Not so smart after all hey.
Ive just done a whole first fix with crimped fittings, not sure im sold on it yet. Expensive i thought and a pain carrying the geberit kit a long way from the van. Does look neat though. Only used it as it was specced for it
You are correct in saying you wont get weather comp unless you use vaillant controls. Im not sure if using a vr61 and a vrc470 would work on your setup though.
Your meant to use the protectaline fittings with the green insert you bang in with a hammer.
Plasson fittings wont fit as its slightly bigger OD, Philmac fittings do fit although like i said your meant to use the fittings that come with the green insert.
Nothing wrong with a lever valve on hot outlet at all. Some people will do this where they have a balanced cold coming off a the combination valve so your not turning the hot and cold off together all the time when using the lever valve before the combination valve.
Those multimonti type concrete screws are great. Ive just discovered tapcon rod hangers. Great on commercial stuff. Saves drilling 12mm holes above your head all day for drop in anchors
Yes you still cant have the copper in direct contact with screed or concrete, needs to be plastic coated or wrapped in denso tape. Hair felt lagging is also no good.
I would go unvented. Im not sure why some manu's say it must be fitted to a mains with 3 bar dynamic at 20l/min, obviously this would be the ideal for best performance, but i cant see a reason why they would be unhappy if the mains wasnt giving that. Other than maybe unknowledgable customers...
That doesnt mention that your not allowed fittings under the floor (inaccessable) be it solder or mechanical (compression) stated by water regs...not that many people take any notice of that.
Plastic Pipe in Pipe with manifolds are good but you still have to have a fitting under the floor if...
