    Blocked Saniflo outlet pipe

East London so yeah, pretty hard water. The Saniflo is about 10/11 years old so it may not be pushing at full force any more, which may be a contributing factor, but as I say, even with that disconnected and mains pressure running down the pipe it was only trickling the other end at first. In...

    Blocked Saniflo outlet pipe

Yeah It's hard to say really. My gut feeling is it's kind of just restricted all the way down, like a calcium build up or something? It was a bath, basin and toilet running through it, no washing machine. With alternating drain acid and mains pressure I've got the shower hose connected to one...

    Blocked Saniflo outlet pipe

Oh and it connects to 1 1/2 plastic waste for the final section where it connects to the stack, with an access point so I've had that off and you can just see the water trickling past so it's somewhere (or all of) the pipework

    Blocked Saniflo outlet pipe

I'd not heard of pub line cleaner, I've just had a quick look, it seems to be caustic soda based. It's 22mm copper at either end, it runs under the floorboards inbetween, the bends I can see are pulled which is good but I don't know what's happening under the floor. There isn't any vertical rise...

    Blocked Saniflo outlet pipe

I've got a job with a saniflo that's not put pumping away, the cause of which being the waste pipe downstream of it being blocked. Not entirely, but only letting mains pressure through at maybe 1ltr/min say. It's run in copper right out to the stack as far as I can see, so it should be able to...

    combi boiler not kicking in

Nice one, a few have flow restrictors fitted in too now, for 'eco' reasons

Wet vacuum advice? Mid budget up to £100

I have the Titan one from screwfix too, it's great. I played about £40 for the smaller one I think. I mainly bought it just for dry stuff but needed to get some water out of some central heating pipes and remembered it was a wet vac too, it made the job so easy. The only thing you have to make...

    combi boiler not kicking in

ALSO a check valve will only slow the flow down further. The combi will need a certain amount of flow through it to activate it and fire it up. If it's a fairly old boiler with a diaphragm that detects flow, as these get old/scaled up they need more and more flow to kick in. Sorting that out...

Wireless Boiler Controls - Are ESi any good

Is there any way of changing the frequency it operates on? I don't know the exact one you have but on a lot of them you can alter it by pulling some of the jumpers out and repairing, that might be worth a try if you can.

    toilet has bad condensation

One thing I've not seen anyone mention here is if the flush valve isn't seating right and is letting a small amount of water run down into the pan (assuming it's got an internal overflow as most new ones do), it'll continually be replenishing it and keeping it colder than normal. Have a look at...

    Rate my business plan

So to give you a full history I did Level 2 plumbing at a college (2 years), level 3 (another 2 years), whilst working in a plumbing and heating merchants for all but the first year of that. Then after maybe another year did the gas, then once qualified started doing little jobs (services...

    Boilermate 2000 Excessive Cost

Were you giving monthly readings prior to the smart start being fitted? It could be that the previous bill was partly estimated/averaged for the year and now you're paying what you actually used that month? I've had a couple of people say their bill went up immediately after having a smart meter...

    Rate my business plan

I'm going to try and be a bit more positive, if you went by the advice of most here no one would ever come in to this trade. It sounds like you're in a fairly good position in that you're not so reliant on the income and have people you can learn from. It's almost certainly going to take you...

Would you show up to this customer.

Christ, if you think that's rude, never work for tenants in East London haha

    Little embarassing for my company.....

Reading that it does imply a plume kit would sort it, probably best giving Vaillant a ring to confirm it

Vaillant Ecofit 30 - Excessive plumage?

Fair enough, and it was probably close to 0°C when that was taken. It did half fill the garden with plumage, maybe the air is pretty still there. I might just recommend a plume deflector/plume kit.

Vaillant Ecofit 30 - Excessive plumage?

Hello, I've had a customer saying their boiler steams a lot, which I explained was normal, and will be more noticeable in cold weather, but when I saw it it did look a bit much. What do you think? Short of a leaky heat exchanger I can't think what could cause it either. Boiler is 1 year old.

Potterton gold 33 he weird one for me.

I've had this on the same boiler and it was that the ignition probes had warped and bent away from the burner, so they'll still be sparking but just nowhere near the burner.

We recommend City Plumbing Supplies, BES, and Plumbing Superstore for all plumbing supplies.
