    Baxi 105e issue

Cheers Shaun, Was thinking it was going to end up heading down that route. Will save the customer in the long run so will see him tomorrow about replacing the boiler. Looking to drop a Baxi 830 in as very similar specs to the old unit, any thoughts from you guys on that. Also got another old...

    Baxi 105e issue

Hi all, Just a quick one to tax your tired brain cells. Got a customer with one of these old beasts & i was called out to it late evening because of flashing 30 & 50 degree lights & no heating/hot water. Had a quick look at it and nothing obvious bar an occasional drip from the diverter valve...

    Worcester cdi service...

He will soon moan if you don't strip & then it goes **** up in the middle of the winter. Do it once & do it properly. He can then start saving for the next time it reqs a major strip/service out if boiler lasts that long. Best to change the bearing plate also because it usually takes the fan out...

    Chimney Pots/gas terminals

If in doubt refer to the regs or you could contact your center where you gained your gas quals from. They should be fully up to date with the regs and also maybe be able to explain them in a more simple way if you are struggling with them, Hope this helps, Andy

    Worcester heat exchanger gasket?

If you have located the seal plate tongue into the locating slot & then tightened it down in the front then you are all good. I always change the electrodes at the same time unless i know that they have not been in long. Simple design but sometimes can be a bit awkward with the new gasket &...

    Gas meter display blank

Sometimes you just have to make a call on things utilising your knowledge & past experience. If you are really worried then once the meter &/or battery was replaced by gas provider you called out you could go back to confirm gas rate with the FGA & pressure as mentioned above & annotate the CP12.

Main combi 24 he hot water issue

Might have to tweak the microswitch if you have fitted a refurbishment kit as some of the pins seem to be of slightly different lengths thus when demand is put in it does not fully make the switch, Cheers, Andy

    Cheap cooker fitting jobs

I don't know your pricing but as above if they want to pay peanuts then they can get some other monkey to do it for them or do it themselves. I've had it with servicing boiler & fires along with CP12 certification. I try to have a fair price for a good safe job & unless there is a very...

    DIY Draining down system

See if your hot water tank has an immersion heater. If so you can drain down central heating system, but make sure you isolate boiler electrically, eg - unplug or pop the fuse out of the switch boiler wire goes too. That way the water will be heated electrically without help of the boiler...
