    #novanber Let’s stop van theft/tool theft

Manufacturers can play a much bigger role in preventing van tool theft. Some vans are so easy to break into (various examples on YouTube) that you might as well advertise "Free tools here" on the side of your van. If manufacturers put a bit more thought and effort into physical security of their...

How do you approach fault finding??

I've just been on the BAXI FF course, finished it yesterday. Very good! Instructor was very experienced so knew boilers inside out and there were a range of boilers to work on. Course consisted of How a Combi works (sequence of operation etc...), Boiler diagnostics and Multimeter Training. Final...

    Remeha Avanta 18v fuse holder

Anyone any idea where I can get a fuse holder for an Avanta 18v? It's the 2AT fuse that sits on the PCB. It's sprung and has this silly little metal hook that holds it in place once you twist it. Tiny hook snapped off so fuse wont stay in board so boiler wont run unless you hold the fuse in. My...

    Ecotec ignition failure f28

Thanks Chalked. Yes got an analyser. I have a Multimeter but it is something I need to master. Using them is something that's covered on the faultfinding course I mentioned earlier.

    Ecotec ignition failure f28

Hi guys, I'm after some advice from the more experienced gas guys. I've been GasSafe for just over a year - qualified via an intensive course (which I know some of you guys have a downer on) after redundancy. I make no claims of understanding everything about boilers as a lot comes with...

Joining 32mm waste to 25mm mode pipe

Have you considered a macerator like a saniflo to pump the waste away. I don't know if it'll work over a distance of 40m with a domestic one. Maybe a light commercial one would do it. With most domestic macerators they pump out through a 32mm pipe. Might be worth looking into.

    Combi boiler installation

That waste pipe could be an old terrain pipe with crap on it. Just the photo making the colour look off so it gives the impression it's copper. But if it IS copper then WTF?! Looks like he's just stuck 22mm on the old existing 15mm for the last stretch. I'd have been inclined to replace whole...
