Hi guys
A rather personal post so apologies if I offend anybody.
I’m looking to re mortgage and was wondering roughly what the self employed gas engineers here net profits are not gross.
As a self employed fitter it’s harder now to get a mortgage and we need to show higher net profits to get...
I have been asked to do a landlords cert Friday on a gas boiler and a gas fire which I know is installed on a pre cast flue. The house are pre 1970 and I reckon the fire was fitted about 6 years or so ago by a local installer which has now left the trade.
My question is would that flue of that...
how do you guys clean these secondary baffles or turbolators?
Some are very hard to clean properly and was wondering if something like Dual X from HWOS would do it or maybe a diluted tub of Fernox DS1 descaler perhaps......what you reckon?

Hi all
Can somebody point me to any current up to date info on thermostatic mixing valves in domestic property please?
Seems to be some grey areas so want to clear a few bits up regarding bath, basins etc and can they be fitted at the cylinder etc?
Thanks
What a nightmare for you!
You can buy 16mm to 15mm adaptors that you use on a standard comp coupling. Most underfloor sites have them. I have some on board where are you?
Indeed it's wrong.
First floor UF systems should be properly designed and installed between joists with insulation under.
The only way you will get that working is to as mentioned check flow rates and temp and adjust as appropriate. Not going to be efficient though!
Or....rip it up and use...
Update
SGN are putting in two new supplies, one for the house and one for the annexe.
Our total load was 63 KW and they were concerned an E6 was not going to cope if everything was at max!
So between them and the customer 2 supplies were agreed.
Our purge volume was close to the domestic limit...
We are still working out our max boiler sizes
Reckon we are gonna get total nearer 60 kw now.
Customer is thinking of dropping the gas cooker now
Just need to get the supply on going
