Noticed a Kerosene whiff around my tank the last few days. Found had a weep at the tank filter bowl.
stripped it down and changed the o-ring and bottom bolt seal. Boxed it back up, turned on the oil, and suddenly oil was shooting out the side of the bowl....wtf !
Further investigation showed...
I have a tank to install.
No static head, about 25m run.
Don’t want any joins.
Check the books - says I should use 6mm pipe.
Cant find a source of 6mm sleeved Copper pipe anywhere.
I guess it’ll be 8mm then.
Can only find max of 25m rolls of 8mm sleeved.
Check distance to tank ...... 26...
Fuel leak is clearly an Urgent job. Phone your local service companies. Most are doing urgent call-outs. Where are you? Someone on here may be able to help. I would suggest you don’t try fix it yourself. If it’s a pump seal, then you could make it worse.
Qual-oil pipe is UV stabilised. Switch to copper as soon as you get above ground. Protect the exposed plastic with a short length of something to keep the light and mice off.
Servicing a Riello burner and noticed a weep of fuel from under the pump. When I checked, the O ring under the pump filter cover was hard, like plastic.
Do you guys normally change these, as a matter of course, during a service?
The control box receives 50v from the motor (white wire). If there is a fault on the motor it could be cooking your control boxes. Certainly is an unusual fault. Where are you? Perhaps someone on here could look at it for you. Some of the folk that do servicing are a bit limited in their knowledge.
Flared fittings have only a single sealing face whereas compression fittings have two, either of which can cause a leak. Both types work fine if done correctly, but flared are generally more reliable, hence their use on brake lines.
If you’re absolutely sure it’s igniting then control box not seeing flame. If you’ve changed the photocell, check nothing is blocking the sight path. If that ok, then looks like a new control box needed.
