Can anyone recommend a good quality filling loop brand?
They all seem to be cheap and flimsy with plastic handles.
Altechnic is ok I find, the water side is good with a nice metal handle, the heating side is poor.
With the cost of boilers constantly creeping up, whats your go to budget/landlord boiler?

Any clever ideas what to do here?
The bathroom is to be replaced and if the bath could moved upto the window with the shower valve at the window end it would make better use of the space.
Its approximately 550mm from corner to window so would either need some of the window blocked off or some...
I’m trying to do more boiler repairs and general call-outs.
Can I ask how you guys charge for this type of work?
Charge to diagnose and charge to return with a part if they accept?
Free diagnostic and higher charge to return?
Set hourly rate and send a bill at the end?

Am I going too far?
Job today was disconnect a gas cooker and I ended up turning off the boiler.
After I tightness test the gas I 'purge and relight', I would light and visually check a cooker, hob and fire.
Put the boiler into max or hot tap and check flue gasses and take the cover off and...
I know there is a TB but I can’t seem to track it down.
If you analyse around a WB kebab and detect a low number of PPM is it AR or ID?
Assuming the case seal is intact and nothing detected around outer case?
To me it’s ID but on an ideal logic for example it’s acceptable as the gasket is porous
Does anyone still work on back boilers? I only ever rip them out so dont have much experience with them but I have been asked to look at a baxi bermuda that wont light up.
If I accept the job I would go and check the basics first but my concern is gently removing the fire front without damaging...
Would anyone know if I could use 2 hives with out a hub and buy a separate hub for a house with 2 heating zones?
I quoted just before Christmas and the hive were £135 each but now they are £160
2 without a hub are £100 each and a separate hub is £80
What are the best zone valves in your opinion?
I mostly fit honeywell but as prices creep up I am thinking are they any better than danfoss, drayton EPH?
Anyone got any pictures of jobs you have done like this?
Im quoting to cram a system boiler and 210l unvented into an airing cupboard but not sure if its possible, I will be a rear flue vaillant 700mm high and the cylinder is 1500mm high, expansion could go in the loft
10 rad system and 210l unvented with a 16kw coil
Do you size to cope with full heating load and full coil kw which may be needed in a rare occasion (25-28kw)
Or size for usual demand (15-18kw)
I tend to go for the bigger value as there is less chance you will get a call but it’s going to cycle...
Anyone managed to fit a towel radiator that doesn’t ping and groan as the heating comes on?
I have fitted loads, cheap and expensive they all seem to make noise.
I am going to quote to replace this boiler mate with an unvented cylinder but have never seen one before
what do the three pumps do?
Boiler pump, heating system pump and?
It looks like the heating system is pressurised so is it just the thermal store that’s open vent?
is it copper inside? 🤓
