Hi. Asking for a relative whose neighbour seemingly DIYed an oil tank replacement. She was aware of 'oil' smells at regular times in the weeks following this, although that has since died down.
Is there a way of checking whether the installation was registered, a bit like boiler installs?
Thanks.
Hello all.
We will likely have to move soon so we can find a new home which has room to have a separate annexe built for mum in law. As it'll be out in the sticks, the fuel supply will most likely be oil.
A few questions on this, please:
1) Do they make small oil boilers - ideally combi types...
Bro has a system boiler which he'd like to replace with a combi. He's on the 5th floor of a building and the gas metres are at ground level.
The gas pipe route seems to be up the outside of the building for most of its way, then comes in and travels up to a 'room' on the roof where the system...
Hi again.
Exploring options for my bro's flat. One is to convert to a pressurised system.
The preferred location for the new unvented cylinder would be where the current vented one is in his airing cupboard. Problem is, it would be tricky to get a gravity drain from this to the outside (he had...
Hi.
I've been looking for info from websites of various manufacturers of mains booster pumps - Salamander, S-T and Grundfos, etc - and also that of some 'specialist' suppliers like 'pumpexpress.co'.
I'm trying to get a definitive answer to; "Can you suck as well as you can push'? Ie, how much...
Hello.
Trying to work out options for my bro's top-floor flat which has truly pants mains pressure and flow. I estimate it (not actually measured, but from my recollection) to be something like 5lpm and well under 1 bar pressure - the kitchen cold is a 'fast trickle' at best, and the CWS takes...
Bro had a couple of these fitted last year to boost the hot and cold gravity flows in his flat. They were chosen to be a gentle boost as they add a very useful 0.5 to 0.75 extra bar (to a gravity system which is barely 0.2 bar), and are very quiet in use.
They worked a treat, although the cold...
Hi all.
Yes, this is an old boiler, and is due to be replaced next year when an extension is being built and the boiler will be relocated in to there. Meanwhile it's running well :-)
Except there's been a few occasions when the water has kettled, gurgled and seemingly 'boiled' - the ball float...
