Use a swing check valve, or a very lightly sprung non return.
swing are best, as they won’t restrict the pump. But they will need fitting the correct orientation so the check valve falls to shut.
Magnetic filters do work to some extent. They are proved to reduce hardness by 2-3 degrees Clark ( American measure of hardness). But if you have a local hardness of 20 degrees, it’s still 18. which is still hard water.
on my experience in our local area, which is around the 22 degrees level...
Hi
Your saying they heat up for 50 mins, then after a further 90mins they don’t come back on?
Your heating is only on for 2 hours so they won’t heat up, until there is call for heating. Your trvs can’t call for heat.
How old is the boiler? And was it commissioned properly.these take a good hour to set and commission. If not done correctly, it will go to comfort mode ( like limp mode on a car)
Sounds like the system needs an auto bypass.
This is something that is either incorporated into the boiler, or fitted external to it.
Your contractor should have fitted one.
We fit one external to the boiler, even if it has one inside.
Really depends on your hot water system.
But you will find that the costs of installing and materials will be more than the wasted hot water costs, over the lifetime of the electric heater

Remove the pop up waste bar from the tap and looking from underneath, the threaded rod has an Allen key hole in the centre. Undo the rod anti clockwise.
