    viessmann 050-w and viessmann generally

Hi, ok thats good then, it didn't come on last night, my night setting was 18 deg, so obviously it wasn't required, overnight temps outside were 11 deg. during the day it used about 28kwh and the house felt really comfortable. It'll be a bit of a learning curve according to weather, can always...

    viessmann 050-w and viessmann generally

Hi, I recently had a Viessmann 050 25kw combi fitted with weather comp and EPH controller, which provides basic on/off temperatures if required. It replaced my old Baxi with hot water tank etc. I'm using the CH for the first time this week, and must say it is really efficient. 10 deg outside and...

New Boiler Replacement - Clarification/Advice Required

Thanks for your reply, I will speak with my installer, I did a bit of research, Veissmann have a heat only boiler that can be used with WC as mentioned by OP on the other forum, which will do the same job with a few wiring changes to valve and boiler. I'll mention that to him.

New Boiler Replacement - Clarification/Advice Required

Hi, I have a Y plan open vent system, boiler 30+ years old, and requires replacement. My plumber is recommending fitting a new Viessmann 11kw System boiler in the current boilers position. The problem is he plans to run two new separate pipes fro the boiler to the hot water cylinder. Once this...

    Replacing old standard boiler

Yep, thanks for that, when it was new the boiler was rated at 65% efficient, so probably less now. At those figures, would save 30 - 35% on my bill, if that's how it works? Which would save £400- 500 a year in theory, at today's prices. So payback on new boiler in 5 or 6 years. If that is how it...

    Replacing old standard boiler

Understand what you are saying, if heating is on 13 hours a day, it uses about 80 - 90 kWh a day, up to 2800 kWh per month. Is that ok do you think compared to a new boiler. Or as you suggest I won't recoup the cost anytime soon?

    Replacing old standard boiler

They are old rads as well, not the old big metal ones but slim ribbed panel ones. They were taken off and pressure flushed when the system was done recently. It was just an impression I had that combo wasn't very reliable and have to wait a while for hot water to come out. Also seem to need to...

    Replacing old standard boiler

I have a 3 port valve Y plan system, with a hot water tank in airing cupboard and a cold water feeder tank in loft. I want to replace the old 25+ year old boiler. Should I just replace with a like for like condensing boiler or a combi. I understand to fit a combi involves a lot more work (more...
