Does anyone know the efficiency levels of the unvented hot water cylinders with a heat pump on top with vents to get the air in to it. I think I'm correct in saying a normal direct unvented cylinder will be 1kw of electric to 1kw of heat
Hi,
Had a bathroom renovation done, new shower & bath.
Unfortunately the new shower with narrow pipes & joints, splitter tap for fixed head & removeable etc. does not have the same flow rate as the old, actually now fixed head unusable, dripples & removable barely better but can be used. Use to...
What is the difference between the 2 riello oil pumps that you can buy they both look the same but the only difference I can see. Where the solenoid is fitted there is a metal plate where the other doesn't.
Hi I had my heating on for a few days all of a sudden there was no heating in downstairs radiators, when I turn the heating on it kicks in then turns of after 5 minutes. I have also turned up. The upstairs is heating up and pump is hot, i have bleed downstairs radiator , boiler was serviced in...
Hope you confirm something’s for me, boiler calls for how and ch but am not sure if pump is rotating, have checked if it’s stuck via inspection cap on pump which is ok. 240v at pump and on pcb so that’s ok. Can someone tell me how I check if it’s rotating, if not it states drain primary circuit...
Having airlock problems with our hot tap: when is is running we hear bubbling and sometimes it stops completely. We can get it running again by running the cold tap fast at the same time. We are not on the mains. Our plumber used a wet and dry vacuum cleaner to pull water through once, is...
Has anyone fit the hot water cylinders with a little heat pump on the top that has ducts to bring inside and outside air in to the unit. Piping up wise is it just the same as a normal direct cylinder?
Son recently moved into a 20 year old house with what appears to be a W-plan system using, I think a Worcester Bosch Greenstar gas boiler
He noticed that the rads were getting hot when the HW was on and I diagnosed the 2 position diverter valve (not 3 position valve!) was well and truly seized...
Hi All I have a client asking whether they can still use the AGA to heat rads once the air source heat pump is in. I think it is possible using a heat exchanger so the low pressure AGA and high pressure heat pump systems don't connect. I've seen it done on biomass systems but wonder what the...
Hi Guys ,
Had a valliant engineer out as I could not add any water to my boiler and it’s sitting on 1bar when I used to have more than this and could easily top the boiler up with the two switches underneath. I live on the fourth floor and when I moved in we had a brand new
GRUNDFOS Type...
Mitsubishi has opened a new heat pump training centre at its’ base in Scotland as demand increases for greener ways to heat our homes. Heating our homes accounts for around 38% of all gas use in the UK and each gas boiler can put into the atmosphere approximately 2 tonnes of carbon each year...
Sorry if this is stupid question.
We have waste water pump in our first floor flat (not sure what it is called)? It failed and wouldn't drain waste water from shower, we found out too late and the water had drained through the ceiling into the property below us.
Probably a bit of stretch but...
Hi,
I'm looking for a water pump to pump water from a storage tank at a constant 3 bar pressure.
It's at a campsite I run that's at the bottom of a long, steep hill. We struggle with very high and often fluctuating (around 7 bar) water pressure, which wreaks havoc with our water heaters.
I've...
Hi,
My current hot water system needs to be replaced.
Anyone got any suggestions or can recommend any plumbers around Derrimut area that won't rip me off?
An office guy recommended me to apply for government rebates and get it installed through timetosave.com.au.
How reliable is this...
Hi,
I'm in my new build 2 years and the shower pump has died.
I have an air to water unit downstairs is in the utility which I've been told is unvented and pressurised. The cold water feed into this cylinder is from the attic tank, not the mains as I turned off the mains stopcock to see if hot...
We have a three zone heating system plus water cylinder (OSO Super S 250L) on an Valliant EcoTec 637. Two CH zones and a UFH zone. Boiler is rarely at maximum power rating, even at full tilt.
The UFH zone has it's own pump and the other two zones (three storey house) are just pumped from the...
Hot water pump is very noisy. Is it on its way out, does it need replacing, or is it a case of getting used to the noise? Friend of mine bought a house and says a lot of noise when pump is running. See video attached.
Hi. I recently had a renovation done. My builder installed a new Combi boiler instead of my system boiler. He connected the pipework to the digital pump. He did not inform us that we would need a new processor because we had changed to a Combi and subsequently a valve blew. Should my builders...
