I have a customer who has had pressure dropping from their system. I went to the property and firstly checked for any leaks anywhere. There was none. I had a look at the boiler and the expansion vessel had failed.
I ordered the expansion vessel and prv and have changed them both. I've recently...
Hi, I have a Rayburn on a gravity open vented system which has been working great for 15 years, but the Rayburn is now on its last legs so I need to replace this.
I like the look of the La Nordica Termo Sovrana burners which come with a back boiler. From what I have read so far they do not run...
Had to have an Auto Vent Valve changed today so system was drained down from the boiler, as this is higher than all the downstairs radiators I am assuming it was only the upstairs part of the system that drained?
Anyhow, valve was changed and system refilled, started up on Hot Water only all...
What plastic based / barrier pipe can you use in a hot water secondary/recirculating system. I note Hep20 and Polypipe make it clear in their specs it must not be used. Other than copper what do you use.
I'm trying to sort out a problem with low water pressure at my elderly parent's house where they have an unvented system. I got a plumber in about a month ago who repressurised the system, after which it seemed better. However there still seems to be a problem, which is most noticeable with the...

Would a one pipe system work efficiently on a condensing boiler as the return type would likely be below 54c all the time. So the boiler would run in condensing mode. Alot of condensing boilers don't run in condensing mode.
I'd be grateful for some advice please.
I'm doing a stable conversion which requires a secondary circulatory system. The plumber (yes, he is qualified) initially didn't realise this and when questioned, didn't actually appear to know what a secondary system was! He did come back to install one...
Wondering should i change a system boiler with a combi if I have underfloor pipes in a single storey 2 bed 90s bungalow There are only 9 bungalows in the close and I was told 2 of these had leaks in floor when they changed to a combi by a neighbor. He said as he was an engineer he would not...
I know of multiple estates built during the celtic tiger where the closed system heating is topped up by teeing into the cold feed to the copper cylinder using a check valve and expansion vessel left permanently connected. Recently went to one of these houses just to fit a new tap, but...
Hi,
I have an open vented system with Cylinder and F&E tank in the loft. I have noticed for about 2 weeks now that the hot water has been gradually getting less hot and currently is only luke warm. I tried raising the termostat on the cylinder which does not seem to take any effect.
I do not...
Hi All,
Anyone know the best way to get air out of an ideal Logic 24 boiler please, I have bled all of the radiators successfully starting at the bottom of the property, and also utilised the two bleed valves at the highest point above the boiler (photo attached) but there is still air bubbling...
I have had a problem where 2 downstair radiators are not heating up the same as the rest of the radiators around the house, now previously i had an electric boiler which heated all the radiators just fine, but around a few years ago i had a gas one fitted and the radiators in the living and...

We moved into a new property yesterday and are a little baffled by the heating/water tank situation. The previous owners unhelpfully left any kind of instructions/manual and therefore trying to figure out ourselves.
We have what looks like a boiler/water tank system (coming from a standard...
Home owner looking for some advice pls. We have a megaflow system which we are considering removing as the tank takes up a lot of space and we don’t find we are using more than one shower or bath at a time.
Our plan is to do this when the current boiler needs replacing (probably in the next...
