Hi

Anyone know where you can get reasonable priced 28mm SDS Plus drill bit? Only used for the odd sleeving for 22mm through a wall but cannot find one under £45? Screwfix do some reasonable ones up to 25mm but dont stock anything bigger in Titan or Erbaur.

Anyone know best place to look?

Cheers

Blimey that's cheap. Thanks a lot!

I'm guessing that'll make it less likely that you blow the brick face off when drilling from the inside with this one too...

It still blows a bit off especially on facings but they are good wee bits.

Better to drill an 8mm pilot hole from inside then drill from outside with bigger bit

You get what you pay for. A cheapy will wear out quicker than a Hilti.

Decent ones can be resharpened time and time again for about £2 a go and as such can last for many years. My 19mm Hilti has been resharpened about 8 times over the years and will last a bit longer yet.

we would never usualy use sds over 25mm although we use a 32mm sds max bit occasionaly for plant equipment anchors and such in reinforced concrete, the core drill is much neater though it can take longer and create large amounts of dust depending on the material drilled.

Through standard wall construction I would agree, but I tend to use the sds as most the walls I drill through are double stone rubble filled. Tends to jam core drill, much quicker to pilot with ten, run through with 22 from both ends and finish with 30 from both ends as well. When coring for wastes I tend to use a 5" inside so I can clear away the rubble, finish through to external with 2" and then make good. Especially at heights.
