Anyone familier with the above term? Guessing it's a type of push fitting but not sure!

It was about thirty five years ago,had its own size as well,not sure if you can still get connectors to it🙁
 
The system was called Bartol Acorn. It is the same OD but thicker walled and requires different support sleeves. Hepworth (Hep2O) do conversions.
 
My Brother-in-law lives in Scotland, he's a builder and always on about Acorn fittings

Found some info today, bartol is a 3/8 plastic pipe and was used in the 70s when apparently there was a shortage of pipe. The supplier I was talking to say they only do a 'Straight comp fitting, 3/8 to 15mm. Loads of council houses were build with them they say.
