hi
just wanted to check with you guys whether you think im eligible to start my acs. Basically ive been doing plumbing work for about 3 years, building work for about 10 years. However, I have no formal quals and decided to do a 6129 at my local college as it cost next to nothing. Im due to finish the 6129 in April. I am doing work experience with gas fitters at the moment and have been advised to start my acs. From my understanding you need an nvq level 2 in plumbing to start your acs - is this correct or have I just made it up

thanks matt

You don't need that quali but what you do need is a bunch of gas work evidence into a portolio. Think the entrant is 28wks on central heating.

Thanks mate,

Thats alot better for me. Had visions of having to pay for nvq2 assesments that id just decided not to do because of the cost.

28 Weeks experience before starting your acs doesnt seem very long?

Aye i know, aparently thugh its enough, its all got to be written down on paper and pictures, bit of a write up and a rgi's signiture.
