F

fuzzy

😕

My local paper had 7 YES seven people advertising theirselves for free work to get plumbing qualifications.

has anyone else witnessed this? People keep coming on here asking about the trade, doesnt those adverts say something? I dont know where they get there info from that this is a pot of gold or even a decent industry at the moment, the adverts suggest otherwise.

Anyone tell me any different?

What I've heard…
If you’d like to learn plumbing now - Level 2 or 3 through a college, you need to be an apprentice now. That is very new. The students, who got on the college courses last autumn didn’t have to be apprentices. But from now on you have to be an apprentice to get on the course. And that’s two years for each ticket. Some colleges might do it slightly different though. Of course there are still private crash courses – that’s another story.

Also, NVQs will become GNVQs. And they’ll be module based.

The above would explain the number of the adverts in the paper.

the nvq will not become a gnvq but a nvq diploma

the adverts are for those with tec certs needing work for the nvq

apprentices/in plum work to get a diploma
