Going to get my van finally sign written next week, one question on my mind is should I advertise for Commercial work ? I have experience in commercial plumbing and heating, although I dont have my Commercial ACS but I could subby work out if need be.

also can anyone tell me what they think of my logo ? I made it myself but was thinking of getting someone else to make it look more professionally done. logo.jpg

Looks fine to me , if your happy then whats it matter?
I price for commercial plumbing but in all honesty it comes from main contractors not because of advertising .If th pipe is over 28 mm or boiler over 70 kw then i inform the builder that to pass that out to bigger company .Never had an issue yet .

You can do upto 35mm pipe on domestic

well I am thinking more of commercial repairs and stuff like that, couldnt see myself getting a commercial install job unless I had a partner who had loads of experience in running jobs say one of my old workmates

I contacted GS as was doing a chicken house and they said upto and including 35mm

it says it in my books also, certain different things apply when dealing with 35mm but nothing major

Yes offer commercial work
offer anything if there a pound init Gerry lol

must have an err then on my certs , mind you also says cookers and never done them lol

What are you classing as small works?
I get to price small stuff like few hundred pounds worth or uoto 10 grand plus thtas still considered small in my eyes when doing commercial.

just repairs and maintenance, new bathroom suites etc, anything which required drawings and design to be done and the use of a quantity surveyor then I would class that as big, but I couldn't see me getting a contract like that unless i had a partner who had alot of experience in running commercial jobs, I would imagine they would want previous experience for jobs like that.

You will get a drwaing and a spec on a job thats 300 quid , majority of jobs that are to do with bigger builds will goto an approved contractor or main builder. approach one in your area and inform them you wish to price some small works .

Quality Logo mate. As far as advertising goes I would do what ever you feel comfortable with. Thats what I do, I can do bathrooms etc but have never done a full one on my own so I don't advertise it but if people do phone and ask I just say I can do it but I'd need a hand and I'd do it with my mate (that sounds abit gay LOL)

Nice simple logo that mate, like all the best ideas.
Don't think personally I'd do it in italics style at an angle but it's your van, make sure you throw some pics up!!

I was paying someone to make me a website and a logo, he pretty much didnt finish it so he isnt getting any of my money... anyway heres the logo www.express-pgs.co.uk

after I seen that I decided to make my own, got the idea in my head before I went to bed, sketched it so i wouldnt forget then made that in about 30 minutes in photoshop, if i take more time i could produce a better one probably.

Gerry, when I try to look at your page I'm getting a trojan warning on my PC. Just thought you should know.
