advice needed on portsmouth area

hi there

i am looking for advice for a friend who is trying to find out what the situation is with the plumbing trade in the portsmouth area.

he wants to know what work is avaible or if any companys are looking for plumbers mates with c&g 6129 technical certificate.
also what is the state of the market with the polish builders and plumbers there as he has heard lots of rumors of them taking over the south coast

if you can provide any advice or details it would be appriciated.

I talk to plumbers on a daily basis and the message I am getting is that it is very mixed.

Most are still busy, but the order books are not as full as they would like. There are some that are very quiet and some that are very busy, so mixed is a good description, I think.

I think the Polish tradesmen situation was worse in Southampton than Portsmouth, but my understanding is that a lot have gone home now.

I think your friend will just have to phone around and ask about vacancies.
