They are all much of a muchness, try and sub direct if you can though.

Every agency will start you off with a firm and then after the you won't hear off them, they just take a cut of your wage :-(

ive worked at BG and bham city council with agencies (barker Ross and HRGO) they have both got me my foot in the door and then I've never heard off them again.

I sub to BG now, but on my own without an agency and its miles better, all my cash is my own and I don't have to pay a payment firm 20 quid everytime I get paid.

The whole thing with agencies is a joke.

Worked for middlesborough council under dutton international - umbrella paye. Found out there was hidden costs, rang them, and they couldnt explain it. So i took the pee and took £180 of scrap copper each week which bumped my wage packet up while was worthwhile!

Looking back now, was fun and actually had a good time, didnt get no hassle neither 🙂

when I was at the council I had to go the office every morning, at the bottom of a massive corridor was a room where they kept all their paperwork for the lads.

Every morning I would help my self to a landlords pad, a service pad, a warning notice pad and a general maintence pad, they where all the ones that you get from parts centre, so I can use them anywhere 🙂

I took a bundle every morning with out fail, five days a week. I was there 7 months 🙂

Exactly, this is why I like BG.

They are not everyone's cup of tea, but atleast they let me know where I am and how much longer I'm going to be there.

Agencies tell you nothing and just want you to keep the money rolling in.

When I was first at BG, they rang me while I was on holiday in Spain asking when they could collect my stuff. I asked them why as I was puzzled, because you finish tomorrow they said.

It was news to me, but the agency had know for a month I was being let go.

i use vital resources ,hays montrose and couple small fry ones i take them for what they are use when i'm quiet brings some money in but i do keep my eye out for other works.

I took aload of pipe, buckets of fittings each week, traps, alsorts! Anything i could get hold of. Got asked about it and because working for scumbags my reply was "must of got lost" they didnt argue lol

As for your comparison between you stealing a bag of end feed elbows and someone breaking into a house & stealing the kids toys etc - yes one is a more serious crime than the other but both crimes involve theft making the culprit a thief !
