Air lock?

Changed two rads today, drained down changed no Probs. On refillingonly the downstairs rads filled. Checked FE tank, ok. But still they will not fill. Have heard I could try back filling with some mains pressure to force out any air. How would I go about this as it is the first time I have had this prob. Cheers

You can fill it through a drain valve using a hose. Might have a choked feed. Try it with a magnet where the feed tees in.

did you open the three/two way valve (whichever you have)? to enable refilling

3 way valve was opened and the magnet didn't stick, now thinking that the valve on the feed might be blocked or there is an airlock between the downstairs rads and up stairs. The drain down cock is not accessable, could the back filling be done using the top of the towel rail in the bathroom?

Shut off rads that are working to force water through those that aren't,work through the system one by one

Can you get your lips around the openvent or a temp conection to it? Suck and blowing can move an airlock in the feed pipe (honest)... 🙂 Otherwise rigging a hose to the vent from the mains or even a hose to a rad valve can back fill .... All done with caution when using mains presssure bye-the-way!!!

tried blowing down Vent and feed, air getting through ok, i think back filling is next option.....water on slow though!!!! i will let you know how i get on, thanks for all the help
