Hi everyone would anyone have some tips on how to remove a airlock in a microbore heating system ground floor rads are working fine first floor rads and flo and return at hot water cylinder is cold have tried turning of all ground floor rads to try and push airlock out but to no joy any help would be great

System is open vented no zone valves sytem rads and cylinder are fed from below joist floor have tried also putting mains water into heating system

How do you know it is airlock? If system has been drained fully or partly, maybe is airlock. Is ballvalve on expansion tank filling in when some water is drawn off cylinder? I would always suspect dirt blocking feed pipe or / and main flow & return pipes near cylinder.

In the past I've filled them up as best I could, open the drain cock slightly and let it run, turn the heating on, give it 10mins, run hw only. This worked for me a couple of times but is not full proof.

I'd also try turning all rads off except one upstairs, if it heats, open a 2nd upstairs rad, open a 3rd and so on.

If could easily be a choked cold feed. Try a magnet on the cold feed, if it sticks then it's choked
