Hi all, thinking of fitting the said isolator to my heating system from boiler to circulation pump in 22mm copper, so I can fir a MagnaClean Atom ( I know the position of the MagnaClean is not ideal but the return to the boiler runs down the living room wall within boxing in). I would normally drain down the system if I had more time to deal with airlocks upon refilling etc BUT with work at the moment I haven't! Looking on Aladdins website they give a good account of why not drain down your heating system, but I was wondering if anyone has used these "live fit" valves in the past and had any problems with them.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply, the pipe in question is 22mm and vertical, I can "bung" the expansion and feed pipes within the f&e tank to (hopefully) create a vacuum and obviously turn off the pump so the water is static. I have thought of freezing the pipe just with the manipulation of the MagnaClean into position I am a bit wary of dislodging the ice bung and creating a full on flood. If someone did say dont fit the Aladdin valve as they always leak eventually etc then freezing is what I would do.
Cheers.
