Hi,
I had an Alpha CD25X installed at home nearly 3 years ago but last week it ceased to provide central heating although the hot water is working fine.
The pressure on the gauge is fine, there are no error lights but even if I turn the CH temperature up to max and turn up the thermostat the CH doesn't come on.
I was led to believe by the installer that the boiler had a 3 year guarantee but he won't reply to my calls now and Alpha say that it was only a 2 year guarantee and want to charge me £290 fixed repair fee to sort the fault.
My question is, is this reasonable or could the fault be diagnosed and repaired for much less? Does it sound like a common fault and, if so, could I buy a part to repair it myself?
Regards
Paul
