Alpha HE CB25 no ignition

Plumber mate of mine has one of these boilers and rang coz there's no heating or hot water. He says fan kicks in and starts to spark but never fires up and locks out straight away. I've never seen an alpha so thought I'd ask if anyone if they hav came across anything like this. Thanks

Are you sure it's sparking?, have Gas?

Thought I was in the private one oops! How can I move post? Plumbers knows some stuff so he says he can hear it sparking but lockouts within 3/4 seconds. I'm not going until the morning so haven't had a chance to check anything. Just wondered if anyone had a similar problem

Check usuals first, could be either, gas, electrodes/ gaps, flame rectification plug, ( if boiler is leaking) Gas valve and or lead or PCB!

or none of the above!! LOL
