Oh come off it mate, shed loads of Union Flags and Cross of St George flags round my way when the world cup is on. Very mixed demographic and nobody takes offence.

Yes, you can offend someone with the flag of your own country, - apparently that's what's happening where I live, - a minority say the Union Jack is offensive because it is British (basically), but most of these people would want another flag which would be offensive to others.
In that case get the offended to fly the flag upside down as a form of protest!!!

some of the jobs i work on your not allowed to display any form on national symbol incase somebody takes offence, you will be removed from the job. On a job in Bham you got told ..........got a tatoo with a flag on it, it must be coverd at all times with clothing or a bandage. Got a shirt with a british symbol like a bulldog on it, it must be removed, got a flag in the van when the footballs on, you not allowed to start work unless its removed. ive got a gold three lions emblem on a chain, it had to be removed while at work.
Who will take offence i dont know? but some must have complain? shame on them for doing so. everyone should be proud of where they live as well as where they may have come from. Displaying a flag or sign of whatever you want is fine in my eyes, shows you care about something more than you care about offending an idiot.

You won't find this nonsense at Balfours or Carillion. Oh no they want you to employ a local down and out and train them at your expense, only use their vendors and fill in "interface" documents constantly.
What an absolute joke. I think it's disgusting that we are so up tight. Why can't you have a anti Semitic slogan on your tee shirt? It's not like wearing a turban - you don't need a hard hat and that doesn't upset any one or create indifference.
I think people should be allowed to do as they please. A homosexual is not told to act heterosexual on site but a homophobic isn't allowed to be homophobic? A racist is entitled to his narrow minded dim view and can have his or her love hate tats makes them look stupid.
