Is it possible when installing a new combi to replace a BBU to cap off the F&R at combi boiler so customer has hot water if the job takes longer than estimated? or would this cause damage to boiler?....never done it before, cap off that is, just wondering if it wer possible to do temporary...cheers all

Only thing u could do is loop the f&r below the boiler, basically make it a small circuit with a filling loop valve. Capping the pipes without filling them with pressurised water would inevitably cause overheats

Thanks for the advice, the customer has a young kid and don't want to leave without them having hot water, hopefully won't need to though if all goes well

The other option would be to leave cylinder in,if it has an immersion heater and make that the last link up
