The oxygen cell, which calculates the CO2, has a two year warranty from new, so unless you flooded the Spint with water, this should have been changed free of charge if it was under two years old. The only charge should have been the service and recall, p/p and VAT.

There are only a few companies in the UK that service this make, any other service company does not have access to parts, the computer system to update the firmware and calibrate the instrument then reset the next service date. So you could have been charged a handling fee until it got to the right bench...

Woe of woe's, my Kane 425, has just gone in. 210+VAT major service. It hurts, but can't do without it.

yep i got one aswell last week gasman also got a sniffer with it as a part of it ,plus been told if you leave the analyser in the appliance when the co goes of the scale that can damage the cell so if it rises quickly above the trigger valve take it out but kevin@gesuk will no

The Sprint V2 CO cell will read up to 10000ppm, but exposing it to this level will reduce the life of the cell and take a very long time to clear back to zero.

If you do get a very high reading, switch the instrument off, in clean air and allow to purge. the instrument is designed not to actual go off until the CO is 20ppm or lower.
The next time the instrument is started, it may take a bit longer until the CO zero is stable, just leave running until it is. The arrow at the start up will be point up, wait until it is horizontal. It may take a few restarts until it is stable. If you ignore the stable CO reading, you can get a negative reading as the zero dfirts down. Then take outside and restart again.

There is an alarm set to 300ppm to inform that you have got a high CO reading, this can be disabled in the setting, I don't recommend you change it.

The calibration, service and certificate for Sprint V2 should be about £55.00 plus parts. (O2 cell is £45 and CO cell £75).

If you pay more than this, whom ever you send to may be passing on to one of the few authorised service agents. The calibration, supply of original manufacturers parts, firmware updates is controlled to companies that have been trainined and audited by the manufaturers.

Kane do not have any authorised service companies, all these unit we take to Kane, but charge the same price as Kane. they are 1/2 mile from me.

Testo have one external authorised service company so far.

TPI have only one external authorised service company.

Flue gas analysers are safety instruments, always use a calibration company that knows what they are doing.

If you want to ensure that the company servicing and calibrating any test instruments you have, ask to see copies of their training certificates. They won't mind, same as you wouldn't when asked to see you Gas Safe card.

just bought sprint v2 kit 2 from test4less on the net, got a multimeter thrown in.anton quote £55 first year,£100 2nd,£130 3rd,£100 4th paid £690 inc vat got it 2 days after order.

have you put the software on your computer yet,i had some probs with windows 7,waiting for my computer guru to come down over xmas.

The driver for windows 7 is not available yet, I have asked for a release date.
So will not work unless you dual boot with an earlier version of Windows.

See topic on Anton sprint v2 software, about a week ago.

ive just brought v2 kit3, but then seem they do v3 v4 v5. too much choice!

redsaw you reckon i can dwnload the disk on windows7 !?

old thread I know, but just installed the anton Sprint lite pc software on my Windows 7 laptop... working without problems.

However there are cetain functions (on top bar of software) such as add customers which doesn't work with the lite version. I have no idea if they would work with another (paid?) version. I have emailed anton to see.....

You can still print out your certificates though and add customer information and your logo and info... nice neat looking.
