Lost the strength in my right hand (can already imagine the post Im going to get with that statement), painful and sometimes tingles. One of the lads said it could be carpal tunnel, so googled it and found out serious cases you need an operation under a local and full rest for up to six weeks! winner when your self employed.

Ordered a wrist support from amazon.... will hopefully see the doc next week and been massaging tendons which does seem to work.

Apart from heavy drugs or chopping my hand off any advice!? Im only 36 so Im a bit too far off retirement

Could be a muscle in your shoulder/neck I had same sort of probs physiotherapy sorted that out but it's not going to help properly until you can give it proper rest which when your are s/e isn't feasible

have re-occuring tennis elbow and golfers elbow in both arms and is agony when using pushfits ,

had same scenario either surgery which isnt always successfull with 6 weeks off ,self employed so no chance

mind you bust my leg thai boxing so that was big financial drain !

Have it in both hands, had physio and a wrist brace to put on while sleeping. You can get injections into the wrist but you'll not be working within a week and the op means you'll be off longer than any 6 weeks, try double. A mate of mine had the op and couldn't work for 3 months.
Luckily my lungs are goosed so I have to take steroids to try and sort it which means I've had no trouble with the wrists for two and a half years. 🙂

It's crap this workin for a living when your injured, I broke both wrists and arm about 4 years ago and it all hurts everyday
as they say just get on with it

What were you doing to break both wrists? motor bike accident?

If you have carpal tunnel syndrome your wrist would hurt like heck, you'd know about it. I had RSI in one wrist and the doc wasn't sure if it was carpal tunnel, a week with a wrist splint and anti inflammatories sorted it out. It was caused by playing World of Warcraft!
Have had numbness and pins and needles in my left hand for a couple of months, went to the docs and it's apparantly caused by resting my elbow on the desk while on the PC. There's a group of nerves that travel through the elbow quite close to the surface and pressure on these causes it. When I was in the docs he mentioned that if it was my right hand then it would almost always be caused by resting your elbow on the door ledge while driving.
Go and get a better medical diagnosis than 'one of the lads' 🙂 It's probably nothing to worry about...

i have it in my rh wrist ..... pain when i over due but when drinking in the garden and having bbq i tend to not even remembering the names of the people i am having good time with

Have had a Frozen Shoulder since last Oct Been to Doc's, Hospital, now haveing phyiso, doc is on about haveing Op but talking to other people this is a 50/50 chance, could be off work for up to 6 mths, so not going down that route, so sticking with Phyiso & pain killer's, told it could take up to 2 years to sort out, Oh the joy's of being self employed.
:bigcry:

Gave myself this at age 22 , 1 tiny patch on elbow ,very delicate when touched !

Re : Your problem Lambchop
If you can wait for docs , a good idea before dose up on anti-inflamitory and work on thru , just might need a different strategy .

A cold draft can do weird stuff as you get older

I use magnetic sports supports when I get problems now. Injuries seem to clear up much faster. I had tennis elbow a few years ago in my right elbow and put a support on and it cleared up in a bout a week. I got it in the left and used the same support but it still hadn't cleared up after two weeks and the support brought me out in a rash. I looked online for an alternative support and ended up with a magnetic one. The tennis elbow cleared up in two days.

I suffer with housemaids knee occasionally and a couple of days with a magnetic knee support does the trick.

Have a look at MAGNETIC THERAPY™ Direct from MAGNETIC THERAPY LTD - The Company.

I have it. Wake up in the morning sometimes with a numb arm/hand. You can try sleeping with your hand flat open taped to a special brace or a table tennis bat(I kid you not). Easily diagnosed with electric nerve shock test in each hand.

Ignore the gimmicks. First course of treatment is rest(as above). Then a steroid injection and lastly an operation to open up the carpal tunnel.
