Many Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Although you can post in any forum, the USA forum is here in case of local regs or laws
You'll soon need training to open a tin of soup😛
why do you need training to lay trac pipe????
You have to be trained in the correct use of approved fittings (split collar flare fittings), their is also a maximum bend radius to be aware of and the one that a lot neglect to do is, correct protection of exposed ends after fitting.why do you need training to lay trac pipe????

If some of the installs I have seen using it is anything to go by, it is a good thing they make you do the course to become approved.Sorry but if you need training to do the above, you should leave the trade
Is not fitting a boiler far more difficult,as many things we done, are we to take training on every boiler we install
The gas training is based on making sure we have the ability to look up regs ect and that includes locating and reading manufacturing instructions
and yes if I fit something new,I do read the instructions as would most responsible gas plumbers
Any responsible gas plumber would not dodge up fittings and pipe installations as described above, this has more to do with the poor existing basic gas training and allowing inexperienced, unsuitable operatives loose on low paid site work
But am sure all the training bodies will be rubbing their hands in anticipation of more cash flowing through the door on another pointless course and even more 5 yearly refresher on how to make a pipe joint
imho
