Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a Bosch 10.8V sabre saw. I have batteries and charger already.

I have the corded recip saw at present ( old green thing? 550?)

Is the 10.8v up to the job? Is it OK for joist notching? I don't do full CH installs, but move the odd rad now and again.

Would it take up a section of chipboard floor?

Thanks

we have them they are good but battery runs out quick, they are good for cutting waste pipes we have used them for notching the odd joist save getting the fein out but they are good

I have the milwaukee 12v hackzall on 3ah batts which is a similer beast

i was cutting reinforcing bars with it today!!!
the 25mm jobbies

6 bars to a battery.

would happily do a dozen notches with it i would say, most likely more

i cant comment on the bosch stuff but they make very handy little tools

I have the m18 hackzall and I use it to cut flues, slice tube when over 28mm, carve out scrap, butcher floors. Even cut cement out of joints to remove bricks.
