I've read on this forum (sometime ago) that if you classify something as AR and leave gas on at customers request, then if you return in a years time you need to upgrade it to ID if customer has done nothing to rectify it

makes sense and its logical, however i've looked and found nothing in unsafe procedures or other sources, can anyone direct me to relevant reg or where this is written as i wanted to refer to it and be sure of the exact wording

looked everywhere i could and finally rang gas safe and asked the above question (with a fake gas number obviously)

despite the logic of upgrading from AR to ID if nothing has been done that rule is not in the regs
Even if you know youre wasting paper you just have to endlessly keep writing warning notices

no such regulation . you only classify something with what you find on the day , if nothing was done and it was ID last time it would be this time , same as AR . if you change your mind to class something ID this year and only classify it AR last year it means you fooked up last time which may make the customer ask questions and rightly so
