Am posting for general consensus. On the 11th of December i carried out work in a flat, while i was there they asked me to service their non condencing ariston boiler. I noticed a water mark on the ceiling along the probable flue route. Gained access to the loft. On inspection i found evidence of fluid having leaked from the flue via 3 separate joints. There was also a hole in the flue within the loft. I carried out a ID procedure based on my findings. Have now recieved a threatening letter from the customer. He called another engineer who has sealed "one possible leak on the flue and recommissioned the boiler". The customer is claiming my incompetance, demanding money back for the work i carried out even though i specifically didnt charge him for the ID procedure on his boiler and the £65 the second engineer charged him, he is also threatening to report myself to gas safe. I have tried to call him back but gone to answer phone. Any opinions advice gratefully received.
