Hello,

Went to service a ariston eurocombi last night and the front panel seal that seals the chamber is totally ruined. Just phones technical to get a part code for a new seal and have been told to use heat resistant silicone!?

This does not sound right to me but, it was their technical helpline and he said it works.

What do you folk think?

Well it won't ever come off again lol!

Unless they meant put a bead in case & let it set, then it will be a big rubber seal?

He was meaning use the silicone to seal the chamber.

I suppose I could use my blow torch to get it off again, when needed.

Think I would feel better with a proper door seal!! Will ask the merchant if they have it. Been looking online and there is a part 573344 new door. Not sure if it has seal though.

Anyone know?

if its a ariston eurocombi SX20 heat res was the original black gasket used, just use a thin bead of heat res silicone will work

Thank you for answering.

So is the regin stuff that sponge neoprene stuff? think it is heat resistant up to 200 deg. silicone about 300 deg.

Using silicone just sounds a bit crazy. Would this be the best solution? What about the new door, does it have a seal on it? Can get it for 23 plus vat.

Ment to say it is a 23 mffi.

silicone thats what ariston originally used fitted loads of sx20,s bugger to get the door off on the first service

Gas man. Thank you. I just did not feel right about it, but you have cleared it up. It was silicone in the first place.

I have High temp silicone. Thanks everyone.
