Gas Engineer
Popped into my local paper shop this morning & the owner was asking about his boiler

Think he said it's a Ascott combi, works ok when the kitchen & bathroom hot taps are open, but NOT when the bath tap is open. Only gets cold water I think, but when the basin tap is running then he opens the bath tap it's working fine.

Soon as the basin hot tap is closed the bath run's cold.

Now I was thinking flow switch, but coz the kitchen & bathroom taps ok, I'm now thinking flow is restricted to the bath taps.

Any ideas guys????

Many thanks peeps

Exactly the sort of problem you get with a split in the diaphragm.

So I go there today, firstly it's not a ascott, it's a MAIN MERSEY serial 50-10. the set up is a bit strange as he has 1 boiler doing hot water (main mersey) & another boiler doing heating (potterton profile 40, which as not been used in about 2-3 years, so that's probably useless)
All this in a 2 bed flat.

The MAIN is working fine on 2 of the 3 taps, water pressure is NOT grate but it's all been working fine for some years until last Thursday.

I'v never had any dealings with these boilers so any help would be smashing, thanks guys...
