All please accept my apologies in advance. I am after some advice about an issue I am experiencing with my heater. I'm not a plumber but just wanted to know if I need to call someone out to look...

the heater itself is an Albion Heater HE and whenever hot water is requested, a loud high pitch squeal can be heard. It can usually be solved by opening another hot water tap and letting it run for a few seconds, but of late not even this has worked. The hot water tap in the kitchen permanently drips. It has got to a point where the squeal is continuous and the only way to stop it is to stop close the tap leading into the heater itself. (The red one centre of the pic). The taps sometimes shake as well when the noise is being made...

Apologies if i haven't provided enough detail but is anyone able to diagnose the issue at all? Can it be sorted relatively easy by me carrying out some remedial task or is it going to require a call out?

picture of the heater attached.

many thanks in advance for your help.

You can't work on that mate. It's not a DIY job. Screw things up with an unvented cylinder and you will have, in your house, a bomb capable of flattening your house and killing your family.

You need a plumber with a G3/unvented ticket.

Please go to Gas Safe Register | Ensure your gas engineer is registered. or post a thread in the 'I'm looking for a plumber / gas engineer' section of these forums remembering to include your location.
