Bath Shower Mixer Tap Leaking from lever

Hi all...
Please see picture below..
Our bath shower mixer tap is leaking through the lever/handle to switch between bath and shower.

So when you turn on the taps water leaks from the lever - on both cold and hot taps.
In shower mode it is fine.
.

Has anyone got any ideas how to fix this..i.e. can you remove the lever on it's own

Hope this makes sense and any advice much appreciated.. Dave

hi dave it looks like there has been a failure of a seal in the diverter. oh and welcome to the forums.

Is it possible to replace by taking out the lever/handle in the middle or is it more complicated?

if the knob doesn't unscrew you may need to take the hose off and go in from underneath

Tom - thanks very much - I have screwed the knob of (see pic below)...does it need a washer here or inside the unit..apols for stupid question..
If I need to get inside not sure how I can do it, i took off the hose on the bottom but it looks like its all part of the main unit..

Looks familiar... What make of tap is that?

thanks not sure of make - builder put it in!
got a bad feeling a new tap is needed and if so will need to move bath?
I can see a way to take out tap cartridges but not a way to take out lever..

When did he put it in?

They normally unscrew from the top, but I can't see any flats on there that would indicate this. Does the chrome top look like it would unscrew - bit like an old style tap?
