Hi. That a fair description, and the time scale can vary from 3/4 of an hour to a 12 hour shift. I have experienced on many occasions cast iron bath, taps set in with white lead putty, box spanner wont shift em, warm up a bit, is the enamel going to blow on the bath. Still wont go. Hack saw blade cutting through tap, great thats done only to find the difference between imperial length on old taps 3/4 of an inch longer than new ones. It now 5 O clock on a Saturday night and the tails wont moveup to fill the gap. Do not have any compression copper to iron female straight connectors either, great the pipes imperial as well. (will you be finished soon plumber as we wish to wash as we are going out. (I wish i was.) I add insult to injury, on arriving home at 930pm the wife smells beer on my breath, a result of a can the punter gave me at 3 pm. She swears blind ive been on the ****. Funny old game.

3/4 HSS drill bit down through the tap has helped me in the past.

Worst one I did was replace a set on a bath where the sink and wc Boxings were fitted right up to the side of the bath, no direct acces to the fittings. It took me and my mate 5 hours to do the job. Rental property and the landlord thought we were seriously taking the **** when we put the bill in.
