Is it necessary to fit ventilation to a bathroom which has been refurbished. The old bathroom did not have a shower - a separate shower enclosure has now been fitted. Is the fact that there is an opening window enough?

If ventilation is required is it the plumbers duty to tell the customer and include it in the quote?

I'm sure there's no regulation that states one is needed, good practice to reccomend one though, your customer should know the drawbacks of not fitting one, but as you say window is as good, just a touch cool in the winter lol.

if your doing a refirb that building regs will be inspecting then they will want an extractor fan, if its just a redecorate type job then tell the customer the benfits of a fan and they might have one put in, how many customers have their windows open in the winter when its chilly outside?
