Baxi Bermuda C Fire front needed

Hey, this is my 1st post, I have a Baxi Bermuda 551 back boiler and a Bax Bermuda C Fire front. I have just had it serviced and the Gas Engineer said the fire has been painted so cant be use. (Rented accomodation) I am after a new front which will fit the 551 back boiler but am having a lot of trouble finding one.

Any help will be appriciated

what part was painted, a can of paint remover might help if it was the white ceramics are covered, be gentle and wash after if they survive or buy some new ones

Where abouts ate you? I'm forever pulling out baxi bbu and fire fronts. (great shame!) if you just need a front casing im happy to help if you are local.

I live in the North East, think its a bit far but thankyou very much for the offer

It is just the metal frame of the front and sides that are painted. Not sure if I use paint stripper it will damage the underneath. I was going to sandblast it and respray it but not sure if this is allowed.

At most he has (rightly) written you out an at risk notice.
At risk of what you may ask. Spontaneous combustion? Your fire front will burn the house down?
Make your own mind up whether you can live with the risk (bearing in mind the original fire front is made of wood and metal and lacquered) and if the house burns down at least you were warned.
Gas classifications are all about covering the rse of the guy on the job.
Whether you choose to listen is up to you.
